Mark 5:36 (NIV): ‘Don’t be afraid, just believe.’
We live in an uncertain world with uncertain outcomes. Mark Twain famously said, ‘I have had lots of worries in my life, most of which never happened.’ Many live in a perpetual state of anxiety. The poor worry about paying their bills whilst the wealthy worry about losing what they have. Economic collapse, war, natural disasters, car crashes, terrorism and illness do happen, but life continues. Why worry about things that can’t be changed? Fear paralyses the spirit and is the gateway to negative emotions. Fear is a state of mind to be overcome in the form of courage. Courage makes ordinary people do extraordinary things. For anyone fighting cancer or serious adversity, be brave and courageous. You are capable of much more than you think.
